Special Edition: notes

The bands jokingly referred to this as the Norts tour, as the Tucson acts blur the line that separates them in their live sets. Actually, the difference is clear as Visine. North is guitar-heavy postrock while notes has more synth- and laptop-based ambience. To further confuse things, North plays as notes' backing band on tour. We combined both bands for the interview. If you've listened to one you've heard the other, so scan ahead to live sets. Notes projected some cool video footage during its set. The band has a new album, "The Impossible Voyage," which was written as an original film score to Georges Melies' silent film of the same name.
