Special Edition: Lucero

Memphis rock band Lucero gets labelled alt-country, but they're closer to Southern rock. Not only because they're from the the South, but also because their music fits that tradition. There was a great mix of ballads and all-out rockers, but it was all drinkin’ music for this marathon live set. They played pretty much the entire “Tennessee” album and concluded the night with a heart-felt mini-solo set by lead singer Ben Nichols. Lucero has been selling out most of its shows on this national tour with Rocky Votolato and William Elliot Whitmore. After seeing them live there's no question, they deserve the attention.
