Sommapalooza 2007: Vax Lavala
Vax Lavala is a band of Cheney High School students that is a stand-out in the all-ages music scene. They took top honors at the Rawk Final Four and finished in the top two at BOBfest recently. This set with the band formerly known as Big Wang Theory shows their evolution toward funkier, jazzier arrangements without abandoning their prog-ish edge. Since most of its members are seniors, they’ll likely be splitting up as they depart for college in the fall (though they expect to play some reunion shows on the holidays).
