Special Edition: Jason Webley Quartet
Jason Webley always puts on a phenomenal live show, but this performance stands apart from previous visits as Webley appeared with full band – built of viola, upright bass and drums and Webley on accordion – to support his new album, "The Cost of Living." The sing-a-longs, the dance-a-longs the drink-a-longs – everything was twice as intense. And Webley’s band was extremely talented. Each of the players played short opening solo sets that were subtle, yet amazing. Led To Sea violist Alex Guy sang and played viola with loops. Quilken played drums and guitar and sang simultaneously. And upright bassist Jherek Bischoff played experimental dub and post rock led by upright bass. Once the three one-person bands formed Voltron with Webley the crowd went nuts. And what a crowd it was. The winery was sold out, thanks largely to a bus load of fans who rode up for the show from Colville. Webley has that effect on people.
