The car with $1 million dollar wheels

Outfitting a car with wheels that are more expensive than the whole vehicle is a classic ghetto-fabulous aesthetic.  This month Miami-based Latitude Wheels tweaked the automotive statement to an all new level with a Ferrari 458 Italia intended to serve as their flagship show car.  As of this week it’s looking like Latitude may have made a very expensive mistake.

Latitude put their Italia up for auction on eBay several weeks ago with an asking price of just under $1.3million.  For those who don’t frequent exotic car showrooms with c-note straps pluming from their pockets, the Italia generally starts around $230,000...  So what gives?

Well, the wheels, of course.  Latitude justifies the stallion’s asking price with 21-inch front and 22-inch rear forged Vossen Precision Series wheels.  With Pirelli tires, Latitude believes the setup alone is worth over $1 million. As of Wednesday night the auction for the Italia had yet to record a single bid.

The best part of this epic over-indulgence might be the promotional video intended to sway potential buyers into dropping a cool million for an Italia outfitted with Latitude’s fancy rollers.
