House and Senate leaders have emerged from a lengthy meeting with the governor, but there’s no deal. “We had good discussions,” said Speaker Lawerence Denney. “The bottom line is he still wants gas tax, and the bottom line is we can’t deliver it.” So, Denney said, the House now plans to adjourn for the session today - even knowing that it’ll have to, by constitutional requirement, be back in three days if the Senate doesn’t follow suit. “That’s still our intention, yes,” Denney said. “There’s no indication that we won’t have to come back.”

Hey Denny! How is it that that Senate, House, and Governor represent the same people and districts, but your House doesn’t get it. Could it be the egos you associate with, or the disproportionate agricultural interests in the House Leadership? By the way have Nononi drive Hwy 55 home. He might see a different highway., or better yet take interstate 84 to Salt Lake, both are an embarrasment to Idaho. I got stuck on Switzer last October with that freak winter storm that blew through. All the highway department could muster was two snow plows to keep it clear. Either the House doesn’t get out enough or they buried their heads in their manure piles.

So if the House adjourns Sine Die — do they still get their daily per diem and living expenses?
