Otter slams Rammell's 'reckless, inflammatory statement'

Idaho Gov. Butch Otter has ripped into challenger Rex Rammell for "reckless and inflammatory statements" about shooting the president, though Rammell said he was just joking. Saying "I reject and condemn this kind of rhetoric," the governor said such statements "gravely damage confidence in the political process and the good citizens who serve the public." GOVERNOR CONDEMNS ‘RECKLESS AND INFLAMMATORY’ STATEMENT

(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter issued the following statement today regarding public comments made by Rex Rammell about President Obama.

“Reckless and inflammatory statements like these gravely damage confidence in the political process and the good citizens who serve the public. As Governor, as an Idaho Republican and as a citizen of our state, I reject and condemn this kind of rhetoric. There is no place for it in Idaho.”
