Senate Democrats have issued a statement saying they're "standing with the vast majority of Idahoans and fighting passage of the Otter-Luna education gambit during today's floor debate." Among the concerns the minority senators raise is how the Senate can vote today on SB 1110, the teacher pay for performance plan, when the bill that would provide the funding for it, SB 1113, has been sent back to committee. It would raise class sizes to gain the savings. The estimated cost for the performance pay bill, SB 1110, is $38 million in fiscal year 2013, and $51.3 million in each year thereafter.
