Joe Palmer was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail over the weekend on felony and misdemeanor drug charges. The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/yivPeC ) 21-year-old Cord Charles Palmer remained held early Monday. He was arrested early Sunday in downtown Boise after police say they found 132 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in his vehicle. Cord Palmer was expected to appear in court later Monday on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He also faces misdemeanor counts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. Joe Palmer is a Meridian Republican who chairs the House Transportation & Defense Committee. He issued a statement Monday saying he and his wife were devastated and believe their son must take responsibility for his actions.
