Senate still working toward March 23 adjournment, but says it’s ‘pretty ambitious’

The Senate convened early today, at 9 a.m., but will soon go at ease for a majority party caucus, without having considered any bills; the Senate will be back at 11 a.m. to hear from Congressman Raul Labrador, who also will speak to the House at 11:15. Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis told the Senate this morning that the goal still is to wrap up the legislative session by March 23rd. "That's pretty ambitious, considering the amount of work still left to do in the various committees, I understand that," he said. The Senate will hold an afternoon session today and will focus on bills on its 3rd Reading Calendar, Davis said.
