Hoaglun to be new communications, PR chief for St. Alphonsus Health System

Brad Hoaglun, longtime communications director Idaho Sen. Jim Risch (including when Risch was governor), former top aide to then-state Controller Donna Jones and then-Boise Mayor Dirk Kempthorne, longtime local Idaho GOP official and current Meridian city councilman, has been named the new director of communications and public relations for St. Alphonsus Health System. Hoaglun is a longtime Meridian resident and College of Idaho graduate; he's also been a small business owner and director of government relations for the American Cancer Society. Saint Alphonsus Health System Announces New Communications

 and Public Relations Director

 

Boise, Idaho – Saint Alphonsus Health System today announced the hiring of Brad Hoaglun as Director of Communications and Public Relations.  Hoaglun will begin the new position October 14

“I am extremely pleased to have Brad join the Saint Alphonsus team,” said Sally Jeffcoat, President and CEO.  “As a seasoned communications leader, Brad brings a wealth of experience in both private and public sector environments to this role.  In addition, he shares a deep commitment to our Saint Alphonsus mission as a healing ministry.  I look forward to working with Brad and am confident that his leadership will be of great value to the health system and also to the community at large.” 

In this role, Hoaglun will be responsible for the health system’s corporate, internal, external and digital communications functions.  He will direct system-wide communication strategy and lead a broad range of public relations activities that extend Saint Alphonsus’ brand and image to the broader community.  He will also be responsible for publications, E-news and other online communication and media relations. 

Prior to joining Saint Alphonsus, Hoaglun served as Director of Communications for U.S. Senator James E. Risch, a position he also held when Risch was Idaho’s governor in 2006.  Prior to working for Senator Risch he was the Chief of Staff for State Controller Donna Jones.  Hoaglun also served as the Idaho Director of Government Relations for the American Cancer Society. In addition, he currently serves as City Councilman for the City of Meridian, a term that expires in December.

Hoaglun graduated from the College of Idaho with a degree in Political Science.  He resides in Meridian with his wife, Chandos.
