GOVERNOR APPOINTS BOISE ATTORNEY TO NEW FOURTH DISTRICT JUDGESHIP
(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced the appointment today of Boise attorney Steven Hippler to a new judgeship in the Fourth Judicial District.
Hippler, 47, has been a partner since 2002 in the Boise law firm Givens Pursley LLC. The Boise native received his bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and his law degree from the University of Utah.
Hippler was among four candidates submitted to Governor Otter by the Idaho Judicial Council. The judgeship he assumes was created by the Idaho Legislature last winter. The Bishop Kelly High School alumnus now serves on the Bishop Kelly Foundation Board of Directors.
“Steve is an exceptionally talented litigator whose practice has run the gamut of civil law. He brings to the bench a wealth of experience, especially in the complex and growing field of health care law,” Governor Otter said. “I’m confident his background and training have prepared him well to be a district judge, and the people of the Fourth District can expect him to be a fair, reasonable and hard-working jurist.”
Hippler and his wife, Stephanie Clare Westermeier, have two young sons.
