Idaho Dept. of Insurance offers guide for Idahoans impacted by wildfires, coping with insurance

The Idaho Department of Insurance has set up a new Wildfire Claim Information website offering tips for Idahoans on filing an insurance claim and rebuilding after a fire, along with consumer tips on how to file a claims and how to deal with adjusters and contractors; contact information for insurance companies and Idaho fire information.  “Our hearts go out to the families who have lost so much,” says Department Director Dean Cameron. “We stand ready to assist in any way we can as they move forward to recover from the devastation.”

Cameron said people who are trying to figure out what to do about their insurance can contact a consumer affairs officer at the department for free help or to file complaints about the claims process; they can call toll-free (800) 721-3272.
