YourHealthIdaho.org tops 83,000 enrollees on exchange

Your Health Idaho, the state health insurance exchange, is up to 83,383 customers through December from its first two months of open enrollment this year, the exchange announced today. That includes people renewing from last year and new signups. “We are happy so many Idahoans have been able to find a health insurance plan that meets their needs,” said Pat Kelly, exchange executive director, “however, we know many more people still need to find coverage and we will continue to reach out to them until open enrollment ends on February 15.”

People aged 18 to 34 made up 27.4 percent of the enrollees, Your Health Idaho reported. The vast majority of customers chose the mid-level “silver” plans, at 72.1 percent. Ada County had the biggest numbers, comprising 25 percent of exchange enrollees; Canyon County was second at 10 percent. “Open enrollment ends in a little over a month,” Kelly said. “If you want health insurance coverage in 2015, now is the time to act. Do not wait until the last minute. Choosing a health insurance plan is an important decision and it shouldn’t be rushed.” There’s more info online here.
