Proposed new ‘America the Beautiful’ specialty license plate would raise funds for military families

A second new specialty license plate has been proposed this session, this one an “America the Beautiful” plate that would raise funds for charitable efforts by a charity affiliated with Support Our Troops, a group that supports military families. The Senate Transportation Committee agreed to introduce the bill today, though there were questions; it’s proposed by Sen. Marv Hagedorn, R-Meridian, and lobbyist Roy Eiguren, and would feature a soaring eagle and the slogan "American the Beautiful" where regular plates say "Famous Potatoes." Earlier this week, the House Transportation Committee approved legislation to create a new specialty license plate to benefit the “Friends of the NRA.”
