Three Constitution Party candidates for president to face off in Boise debate

The Constitution Party of Idaho will hold a debate in Boise on Saturday featuring all three Constitution Party candidates for president – Scott Copeland and Patrick Ockander of Texas, and J.R. Myers of Alaska. The three are vying in Idaho’s Constitution Party presidential primary, which will take place on March 8; both the Idaho Republican Party and the Constitution Party of Idaho are participating in the presidential primary that day. Idaho Democrats will make their presidential nomination choices in county caucuses on March 22.

The contested primary is a first for the Constitution Party in Idaho, as is the debate. It’ll be held at the Boise Public Library, Hayes Auditorium, on Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; the public is invited. In a news release, the party said the debate will be “an authentic stand and deliver public event.”

Following the debate, a pizza dinner and reception will be held at Idaho Pizza Co., 405 E. Fairview Ave. in Meridian, at 7:30 p.m.; seating is limited. Those who’d like to attend are asked to email party Vice Chairman Dave Hartigan for reservations, at vicechairman@cpidaho.org.
