“We want to thank everyone for coming,” the Rev. Shahram  Hadian said, opening his presentation in the Lincoln Auditorium tonight. “We’re here tonight because, at the request of citizens from Idaho who asked us to be able to present this information here at the Capitol, so not only citizens would have an opportunity to hear, but also some of the legislators would have an opportunity, as they have very busy schedules and it’s hard for them to get off campus.”

There are more than 100 people in the auditorium for the presentation, including about a dozen state legislators. “We’re hoping this will be … very peaceable,” Hadian said. “We’re here to present information, to present facts.”

Hadian then opened the session with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. He noted that he has heard from lawmakers with concerns about the vetting of refugees, and that county commissioners and a sheriff in North Idaho have expressed concerns, as has the Idaho Republican Party in a resolution, and the governor and members of Idaho's congressional delegation.
