ISP announces statewide mobilization for holiday weekend, targeting impaired, reckless driving

The Idaho State Police has announced a statewide mobilization over the holiday weekend aimed at impaired driving and other reckless driving behaviors. “This summer has already been too deadly on Idaho's highways,” said Idaho State Police Lt. Chris Weadick. “We recommend drivers to drive sober, drive defensively and pay close attention to what the driver next to you is doing to prevent a crash, injury or even death.  ISP will do our part and have additional troopers on the road with grant funds provided by the Idaho Transportation Department's Office of Highway Safety.”

ISP is reminding drivers to buckle up; slow down and be patient with other drivers, particularly with holiday traffic; drive sober; avoid distractions such as phones and food; don’t tailgate; and report hazardous drivers you see on the roads to law enforcement.
