Idaho reminds paddleboard operators to have safety gear

Here’s a news item from the Associated Press: BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is reminding paddleboard users that the increasingly popular crafts are considered vessels when operated outside of marked swimming areas and are required to have safety equipment. The state agency says a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket must be on board as well as a sound-producing device such as a whistle. Paddleboard operators without proper safety equipment are subject to a $99 fine. Idaho also requires paddleboard users to purchase an invasive species sticker for $7. Failure to display the sticker can result in a $72 fine.
