Idaho GOP announces speakers for this week’s convention

The Idaho Republican Party has announced four national speakers who will be featured at the upcoming state party convention in Nampa that runs this Thursday through Saturday: David Keene, Kimberley Strassel, Foster Friess and Buck Sexton.

Keene, former president of the NRA (2011-2013) and the American Conservative Union (1984-2011) and current opinion editor at the Washington Times, will speak at a “VIP and Welcome Reception” on Thursday night at the Warhawk Air Museum. Strassel, a Wall Street Journal columnist and author of “The Intimidation Game: How the left is silencing free speech,” will speak at a Friday luncheon that also will feature Idaho state elected officials. Businessman and conservative philanthropist Friess will be the keynote speaker at Friday night’s “Western BBQ.” And Sexton, a radio host for “The Blaze” who has been a fill-in radio host for Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, will be the Saturday luncheon speaker.

The full schedule is online here. The theme for the Idaho GOP convention this year is, “Faith, Family, Freedom … Firearms!” and both the Thursday night reception and the Friday night BBQ dinner will feature gun auctions.
