State sets auction of nine commercial properties for Dec. 1

The Idaho Department of Lands has announced that it will auction off nine commercial properties now owned by the state endowment on Dec. 1 in Meridian. The auction will run from 1-4 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott Meridian Hotel, 1789 S. Eagle Road, and registration will begin at 11 a.m.

The properties include six in Boise and three in Idaho Falls. The total appraised value is $20 million; the minimum bid for each property will be its appraised value.

There’s more information here, including details on the properties. The auction is part of the state’s move to shift the land holdings of the endowment from residential and commercial properties in Idaho to other types of property, mainly timber land, with an eye toward long-term returns.
