Lots of illegal fireworks calls in Ada County over the Fourth; families displaced in apartment building fire

How many calls about illegal fireworks came in to Ada County sheriff’s dispatchers about illegal fireworks on the Fourth of July this year? 266. That’s the tally from 12:01 a.m. July 4 to 10 a.m. today, the sheriff’s department reports.

Over the holiday weekend, from July 1 to today, dispatchers reported a total of 392 calls reporting illegal fireworks in Ada County.

Meanwhile, fireworks were blamed for a fire at an apartment complex in Boise near LakeHarbor Lane and State Street that damaged eight apartments, four of them severely, and displaced a number of families. KBOI2 News has a report on the fire here; it was reported around 2:30 this morning.
