Governor’s office: Otter alert, ‘resting comfortably’ after surgery, infection

The Idaho governor’s office today issued this statement: “Governor C.L. ‘Butch’ Otter is alert and resting comfortably in Boise’s Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical today, recovering from an infection after undergoing a second back surgery on Friday for a ruptured disc.

Idaho Lt. Gov. Brad Little said he visited Otter in the hospital this morning. “He’s on the road to recovery,” Little reported. “He’s champing at the bit to get out of there. He had a big smile on his face.”
