Stan Olson selected as interim superintendent of CdA School District
Stan Olson, the former Boise School District superintendent who unsuccessfully challenged then-state schools Superintendent Tom Luna in 2010, has been named the new interim superintendent of the Coeur d’Alene School District. Olson will head the Coeur d’Alene schools for one year, starting July 1 and earning $133,000; he replaces Matt Handelman, who resigned in April.
“Dr. Olson stood out to us based on his wealth of knowledge and experience in public school administration, including managing over $100 million in voter-approved bonds to pay for new and improved schools in the Boise School District,” said Casey Morrisroe, Coeur d’Alene school board chair. “He’s the right choice during this time of transition for our school district.” You can read a full report here from S-R reporter Eli Francovich.
