Idaho GOP chair decries new moderates PAC; says Dems, independents shouldn’t register as GOP

Idaho Republican Party Chairman Jonathan Parker is calling it “alarming and disturbing” that a former GOP state representative has launched a PAC urging independents and Democrats to register as Republicans so they can vote in the closed GOP primary; former Rep. Kathy Skippen’s PAC is called “Moderates Are Taking Hold.”

“The Idaho Republican Party is an open and inclusive party,” Parker said in a statement. “We pride ourselves on being the party of ideas which espouse basic conservative Republican principles that we believe are the solution to our nation's woes. I welcome all individuals to affiliate with the Republican Party who share our common-held beliefs in limited government, personal responsibility, lower taxes, and additional freedoms; however, we just ask that Democrats and Independents not expect to choose our candidates for us.”

Parker’s full statement is online here.
