Idaho to collect nearly half-million in multi-state EpiPen settlement

Idaho will collect nearly half a million dollars as part of a multi-state settlement with Mylan for allegedly overcharging Medicaid for its EpiPen products. Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden announced today that the state is joining the federal government and other states in the settlement, which resolves the allegations against the drugmaker from 2010 to 2017.

Nationwide, the settlement requires Mylan to pay $465 million, with $214 million of that going to states. Medicaid is the joint federal-state program that covers health care for the poor and disabled; in Idaho, the federal government covers about 70 percent of its cost and the state pays about 30 percent.
