Move to amend tax-cut bill fails, 24-46

As the House debates HB 463, the governor’s income tax-cut bill, Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard, interrupted with a motion to send the bill to general orders for amendment. Scott said she wanted the bill sent to the amending order “to add grocery tax repeal and possibly make some other changes.” House Minority Leader Mat Erpelding, D-Boise, seconded the motion.

Erpelding said his aim in backing a move to amend the bill was to add a larger child tax credit.

The motion failed, 24-46.
