On tonight’s “Idaho Reports” on Idaho Public Television, there’s a report on legislative leaders’ comments last week on gun violence; the big rally at the state Capitol in which nearly 2,000 Idaho high school and junior high students protested against gun violence; and a panel discussion in which House Speaker Scott Bedke, Idaho Freedom Foundation President Wayne Hoffman, Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children head Beth Oppenheimer, and Boise High School senior Will Tanguy, along with host Melissa Davlin, discuss guns, violence, state laws, and how to make things better.

On the pundits, Davlin and I talk about the developments of the week, from the student protest to Friday’s Senate debate over school safety legislation to the House’s vote to kill the budget for state Superintendent of Schools Sherri Ybarra over concerns about replacement of the state’s early-reading assessment.

“Idaho Reports” airs at 8 p.m. Fridays on Idaho Public Television; after it airs, you can watch it here online any time. It also re-airs Sunday at 10 a.m. Mountain time, 9 a.m. Pacific.
