Spokane County mail carriers at work

Mail is being delivered in Spokane County, but some places will be skipped if streets or sidewalks are deemed too treacherous, said Lisa Nystuen, customer service coordinator for the Spokane post master.

“If you can’t get your car down your own street, we probably can’t get a mail truck down there either,” said Lisa Nystuen.

All area post offices were open this afternoon except the downtown Spokane branch.
Nystuen said while some letter carriers were unable to make it to work, many did.
“If that (letter carrier) feels that they can’t get to a delivery, we don’t go there. We don’t take chance.”
She said folks should rest assured that their mail will be safe even if it’s a day late.
