David Laird at my yard sale in September 2015

From GoFundMe (David Laird Memorial)  (bank account has not been set up yet)

Dave Laird Lost his battle with many health problems, today, April 30, 2016.  Dave was a vibrant, witty, terribly smart man who loved to write, loved life, loved photography, loved his wife, loved his grandchildren, his son, his brother, his friends, near and far.  Dave would start and end his conversations with, "It's another day in Paradise!"  Dave could spin a story about any timeline in his life and it would be an adventure with a wonderful poignant punchline.  Dave wrote prose and stories that covered everything from hot politics to hot motorcycle treks across hot deserts.  Dave wrote fantasies that revolved around a "Virtual Ballroom" complete with ghostly characters from his past, people crossed over now sitting at the bar musing and commiserating with Dave.  I am writing this for Dave's wife, Suzie - who is Dave's best friend and the light of his life.  I am writing this for all his friends and family who love him and can't handle the void that is forming.  I am writing this for me, his co-host for The Spokesman-Review's Blog, Community Comment, which has felt the loss of David's incredible talent over the last couple years.  Another void.  Dave has been through the Valley of Death and he is taking his journey to a higher level.  He and Suzie need your help!  We need funds to help pay exorbitant medical costs as well as funeral costs.  Dave has been and is a blessing beyond words.   He is now enjoying endless days in Paradise.  Please help us!  (~Jeanie Buchanan, good friend)
