Down To Earth

“Meet Me at the River” and “Sustainable September”

Though not the most substantial information, we wanted to make you aware of two really cool events you will be hearing much more about, both here on DTE and elsewhere. If you recall last July, the Spokane River Forum organized a rafting and paddling adventure covering the entire length of the Spokane River over two long weekends.  It was a great opporunity to get people excited about their river, and to raise awareness for issues related to recreation and the health and safety of the river.  If you missed out last year - you'll have a chance to make right this summer.  Be sure to bookmark the Spokane River Forum's website and check in for updates, as well as paying attention to DTE as we will bring you announcements as they come in.

Sustainable September Spokane -  Again, there hasn't been an announcement of any kind, but there is a website up and the discussion is ongoing.  Sustainable September Spokane is a Community-Minded Enterprises project that, as their mission says, will work with their partners in the nonprofit, business, and civic communities to create a month of "green" learning events for Spokane.  Visit their site, sign up to the social network, and connect with others in the community and be sure to get the latest news of Sustainable September Spokane.
