Bikestravaganza photos

Last night, Joel Biel and Elly Blue brought their fun cycling roadshow "Bikestravaganza: Off The Chaining Tour" with films, zines and good conversation to the Community Building. Barb Chamberlain, Kitty Klitzke, Bill BenderJeff Everett and more did an awesome job speaking to a diverse crowd that was standing room only.

Hank Greer of Shallow Cogitations has an excellent recap. He wrote: "What struck me was that for as many that got up and spoke there were just as many missing. I don't say that to mean some were excluded. I think it highlighted the fact there are so many facets in Spokane's cycling scene. There is something for everybody here. And you could tell that by looking at those in attendance last night whose ages ranged from young to old and whose cycling skill sets varied just as much." The overall sentiment was that Spokane has a lot of postive momentum with bike events and policy yet there's still frustration with auto-centric priorities. (Read: North-South Corridor.) Still, it's events like these that bring everybody out that is a testament we have a very robust bike culture.

And thanks to the graphic design talents of Jeff Everett for coming up with a spoke card for the event. More photos after the jump.
