Tuesday Video: Stand Up For Trains

Taking the train has always been ridiculously fun for me. Blame it on David Lean films. But tickets are cheap, most trains produce nineteen times less greenhouse gas emissions than flying and they're probably the most relaxing form of public transportation.

The Midwest High Speed Rail Association launched a campaign called Stand Up for Trains. They made a video that asked riders in Illinois what they wanted to convey to government officials about funding rail service. Turns out, a lot. Pefect timing: The opposition is growing for Obama's plans to expand our rail system which has been underfunded and neglected for years. "Is it just me, or is hard to argue against writing the next chapter in American innovation, " challenged Secretary Of Transportation Ray LaHood.
