*Teachers contract ratified by union: Pact now goes to school board, scheduled to consider it today/Rasha Madkour, Spokesman-Review — The teachers should be happy. *Snow grips North Idaho: Residents urged to be ready for the worst with winter/Coeur d’Alene Press — Boy, am I glad I didn’t get rid of my wood stove.

*Hunter charged in slaying: It was too dark to tell target wasn’t deer, prosecutor says/Taryn Brodwater, Spokesman-Review — Another year. Another victim. Another hunter who’ll regret being trigger happy for the rest of his life. The story never changes.

*Accused coach had history of complaints: Records state district officials counseled Swalstad about inappropriate behavior with students in 2003/Sara Leaming, Spokesman-Review — Can you say “lawsuit,” baybee.

*Bonner County sheriff’s captain cited: Deputy says superior threatened to beat him up/Taryn Brodwater, Spokesman-Review — Captain Dearest has been watching too many Dirty Harry movies.
