Doonesbury: To Ban Or Not To Ban

Issue: ‘Doonesbury’ pulled from today’s newspapers/SR blogger Ken Paulman, Daily Briefing

DFO: The editors Sunday pow-wowed about Garry Trudeau’s cartoon strip after they noticed it had an offensive word in the final panel instead of “a joke” in this revised panel here. I have somewhat of a problem with censoring a writer or artist. On the other hand, Trudeau has gone over the line before. If editors didn’t pull his chain occasionally, no telling how far he’d go.

Question: Did the SR editors do the write thing by pulling Trudeau’s strip?
