I enjoyed the (Coeur d'Alene) fireworks. While the finale was somewhat brief, the last few shells were very impressive and unusual. The downtown parks, though, were a war zone of illegal fireworks and the cops didn't have enough manpower to stop it. I never felt in danger, but I wish people would obey the law for public safety reasons.

DFO: Yeah, what was with all the firecrackers, sparklers and worse at City Beach last night? It's been awhile since so many fireworks were shot off at City Beach and City Park. I arrived late, so I didn't see what the gendarmes had done. But I was surprised that some goofballs were shooting off fireworks with impugnity.
