Real Women Have Real Curves

So many of today's women attempt to live up to false images of beauty they see portrayed in Hollywood and splashed across magazine covers. Dove would like to change those perceptions by launching its Campaign for Real Beauty: "For too long beauty has been defined by narrow stifling sterotypes. You've told us it's time to change all that. We agree. Because we believe real beauty comes in many shapes, sizes and ages." While unmistakably a marketing ploy, the premise is interesting: Instead of feeding off women's insecurities with themselves, here's a company giving women permission to celebrate what they have been given and to focus on beauty from within. Dove wants to know women's perspectives on what they believe real beauty is. What would you tell Dove?

Feedback: My friend called me up when she saw this ad and said "Look! women in their underwear with our bodies!" So I went to my gossip mag to look and there they were, BUT, they still looked touched-up and air brushed. Not a dimple or wrinkle on them anywhere! I think personality defines beauty, the hottest girl can turn ugly by her attitude and vise versa -- Bre.
