Huckleberries Online

Photo of the Day w/Top Cutlines — 7/21/05

I'm not going to ruin this for you by saying too much about the APhoto. The women are taking part in a festival that took place this week at the beach of Shirahama on the Boso Peninsula. You write the cutline. BTW, I read Jane Q. Citizen's note yesterday that she's intimidated by the terrific cutline writers who participate in the daily blog. Don't be. As Jane Q found out yesterday with her first-place tie, everyone has a good cutline or two in him or her.

Top Cutlines:

1. Duane Hagadone provides more hours for staff members when he hires them to begin Phase one of the Blackwell Island dredging -- Whatever.

2. After much deliberation law-makers finally decided on the appropriate place to house Kootenai County's sex offenders. At the bottom of Pend Orielle Lake -- Bre.

3. (tie) The members of Save Karl Rove couldn't find a virgin to sacrifice at the altar, so in a fit of pique they decided to immolate themselves in vast pool of deisel -- A Token Democrat. And: Senate Democrats enter into their conclave to debate the lynching of John Roberts -- political.

HM: Coeur d'Alene hosts the new Iron Mummy Nighttime Triathlon -- Family Phil.
