...for being railroaded by You Know Who to ask You Know Who to resubmit his downtown garden proposal here (This is the same tactic You Know Who used 15 years ago or so when he tried to resurrect his plan for hydroplane races -- get the chamber to be his lap dog).

And here's 5 reasons why I no longer support that memorial to The Duane's parents being built on Sherman Avenue:

1. The space is way too cramped to do it right.

2. In a poll of 756 residents late last fall, Coeur d'Alene opposed the downtown garden 72% to 28%. The people don't want it built on Sherman.

3. It'll further congest traffic to the downtown and boat ramp.

4. The minute The Duane gets the go-ahead, he'll begin plotting how to shake down future councils to limit access to the property.

5. Why should this town give The Duane a square inch of concrete when he wouldn't give the town a square inch of his rocky beach last spring when everyone was begging him to do so.
