Issue: We had an interesting debate over the weekend, launched by my idea of changing the words re "about this blog" at the left of this Web page. I was considering replacing "conservative grouch" with "recovering conservative" because I don't feel grouchy any more.

DFO: Like most folks, I don't fit into labels easily. I'm a social conservative with a strong -- and sometimes conflicting -- human rights strain. I'm moderate to slightly right on fiscal matters. And green when it comes to the local environmental.

Question: Should we be more careful when applying political/social labels to people? And, for the heckuva it, how would you label yourself?
