... The Duane holds Mayor Sandi Bloem to blame for his failure to win approval for a memorial garden downtown and will do what he can to thwart her re-election bid this fall. Also, that the memorial garden idea hasn't gone away. The Duane will be working under the radar, via allies in the community, to soften resistance to closing 2 or 3 downtown streets for the garden. And then begin pursuing the matter after the muncipal elections in November, particularly if he can defeat Her Sandiness and get new councilmen who will favor his project. Stay tuned.
