Huckleberries Online

Best of the Local Blogs — 10/11/05

Almost all the local bloggers seem to have taken the day off today, so I'll leave you with a clever piece from CDADave's "Thin Air":

Out walking on the Tubbs Hill trail today, I spotted a large boat anchored off the "point" on the southwest corner of the hill. Some young kid had taken out Daddy's boat, and he and his girlfriend were getting cozy. All of a sudden, the quiet air over the lake was pierced by the unmistakable strains of Rap music, coming from the boat. I figured, "well, time to go back", so I headed back up the trail, and the boat came around the point and started heading towards the CDA Resort, playing "rap" music all the while. I've pretty much accepted I can't get away from the stuff when I'm on Sherman Avenue, but on the Tubbs Hill Trail? Gimme a break!

And:

This is probably uncalled for: I'm no radio executive or broadcast mogul, but I'm kinda thinking a station that aired nothing but rap music could have the call letters, "KRAP". Yeah, I think that would work! And if the station got high ratings, the management would be "hip-hopping" all the way to the bank!

DFO: CDADave, I'm glad you came back, and I'm hearing rumors that Bearable Bob is already getting itchy. Stay tuned.
