Huckleberries Online

Peanut Gallery — Boys & Girls Club

Until a few months ago, I was a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club. This is a "must have" organization for any municipality’s children. The club provides a very positive place for kids to spend their after school hours versus home alone or on the streets with other latch key kids. A Club is light years beyond, just a place to hang out and shoot some baskets or play pool. One little known fact about the Club which traditionally is open week days from 3-8 PM is that for an entire school year, the dues run from around 10-30 dollars for a child. How's that for "value?"

If you can view this video of the 2004 WA Youth of the Year for the Club, do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes doing so. You will come away as big a fan of the Boys & Girls Club as I am. I encourage all to learn more about the Club and get behind it's creation in any way you can here.
