IDAHO Doesn’t Mean What You Think It Means

So, you think Idaho means “sun coming up over the mountains”? It means something quite different on an international stage, thanks to Louis-Georges Tin, editor of the Dictionnaire de l’homophobie. Last year, Louis-Georges & friends launched the first IDAHO: International Day Against Homophobia on May 17, the 15th anniversary of the day the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. A second observance is scheduled this May 17. And you thought IDAHO meant “I Do Anything Hagadone Orders?”
