Mailbag: Huckleberry Hound Run For Office?

Mary Souza: Thanks, DFO, but I have no plans to run for anything—the need is now, and I’m working hard behind the scenes to shake the tree and get some action. Why don’t YOU run next time? You seem to have your finger on the pulse of the community …

DFO: I was the student body president at my high school and the vice president at my junior college. If memory serves me correctly, and that’s a stretch since we are dealing with the “lost in the ‘60s” here, I did miserably at both jobs. I’m better as an agitator. Besides, I enjoy journalism and blogging too much to give them up to spend hours listening to The Duane and cronies tell me why we need a memorial garden downtown only to have him pull the request after a coupla public meetings.
