Mailbag: What Is Silverwood’s Phallic Symbol?

Sierra Madre: Dave, I think you are the man for the job in finding out the thoughts of panhandlers on this topic as well as what is it? What in billy blue blazes is that red pulsing phallic symbol at Silverwood? I fear I will have a crash as I avert my eyes from its visual assault each time I pass it. … I look forward to reading about what you find is the reason for this abomination.

DFO: I honestly dunno. I haven’t been out Silverwood way since my sister moved from the Athol area to Spirit Lake. Can anyone out there help identify the UFO (unidentified fallic object, sorry for the phonetic spelling)?
