Question of the Afternoon re: Gay-Straight Alliance

Issue: Mica Grange wants parent approval: Measure would require permission for student after-school activities/Linda Ball, Coeur d’Alene Press

More Info: “The local proposal would make it mandatory for students in the Coeur d’Alene School District to have parental approval to be a member of an after-school club or activity. When asked whether this has to do with the Gay Straight Alliance Club at Lake City High School, grange member Martha Cook said not directly. ‘We’re not saying that we do or do not support the GSA,’ Cook said.”

DFO: I’m bothered that the Grange is so worked up about this that it’s willing to inconvenience everyone to snag the one or two kids who might not have permission from their parents to attend the GSA. Big-time overkill.

Question: Should the Mica Grange be poking its nose in a Lake City High issue?
