A Perfect Day in the INorthwest
A day as perfect 100 years ago
"Today, up here in the Inland Northwest, the sun SHONE all afternoon, and it was about 40 degrees outside with a very slight wind. The surface of Lake Coeur d'Alene was glass-smooth. The seagulls, geese and ducks were out, so I fed my "flock". Geese have a really dignified way of approaching you if you have food for them. They walk up to you placidly, and emit a low, subtle "honnnnk"; what a refreshing approach, especially after hearing the seagulls scream bloody murder as they peck each other to death over a crust of bread. I then "jumped the gun" on Summer and actually sat on the sea-wall at City Park for about 45 minutes, and it was just great to be out! It was a gorgeous day; how gorgeous was it?" -- CDADave/Thin Air.
