“I’m telling you, Dennis Erickson had a little extra pep in his voice when I reached him Tuesday in San Jose to ask about his interest in the Idaho football job. As I wrote, Erickson is in Moscow today, meeting with the Vandals. And I expect if Idaho is wise (apologies to Montana State’s Mike Kramer, who comes in second here) Erickson will be announced as the next coach in the next 24 hours. The best part of this is that Idaho plays at Oregon State next season on Saturday, Sept. 23 in a game that was meaningless, oh, about 15 minutes ago but suddenly feels like so much more.”
