Huckleberries Online

HBO — to Stopthecrazygrowth

Stopthecrazygrowth: "I'll bet that if Kootenai County held a referendum of the voting public and asked, "Do you want to see growth continue in its present form?" You would see similiar wide spread "No" answers. Of course, that is a question that would never be relegated to the tax-paying public. As for Bonner County - the people have spoken, time to move on."

DFO: Aren't "the people" to blame for the predicament they're in? After all, they can stop the crazy growth simply by replacing the two Kootenai County commissioners that're seeking re-election with two stop-growthers. It's that simple. But the people are too fat, dumb and happy to pay attention to the county courthouse. Or their City Hall. Therefore, the developers and booster types control those entities. And the people keep expecting a pro-growth politician to all of a sudden embrace no-growth. Ain't gonna happen. We get what the developers pay for.
